The two drilled out pieces pushed right out and after cleaning up the bolt it looks like I had the drill bit well centered enough that I didn't even scrape the hardened metal of the bolt or the extractor.īutt pucker moment averted. Being bent - it explains why I couldn't drive it out. Once I was able to get the extractor out - I could see that the pin is bent (and it still isn't coming out of the extractor). I figured that it was either bent or broken. I used a 3/32 (0.093") drill bit which is ever so slightly slimmer than the 0.099" pin. A little time getting the bolt aligned in the vise and some butt pucker moments listening to the drill bit and hoping I had it well centered - I managed to drill out the outer extremities of the pin and pry out the extractor.
